ROBBO: SCOTS WERE DUE OUR NIGHT ON BOOS
Daily Record
|October 15, 2025
ANDY ROBERTSON admits Scotland stars deserved the boos against Belarus as he warned his squad they must sharpen up quickly or forget about automatic World Cup qualification.
The 31-year-old, much like boss Steve Clarke, refused to sugarcoat an abject display against the side ranked 100th in the world as the Scots held on for an edgy 2-1 victory - with Belarus firing 22 attempts at goal.
The Liverpool star is under no illusions that a result in Athens followed up by a victory against Denmark under the Hampden lights is a non-starter unless the national team rediscover their spark.
Robertson said: "It wasn't great. It doesn't feel exactly great at the minute but obviously there was huge frustration.
"You could tell that by the end of the game in terms of how the players reacted but also a bit of perspective needs to be put in place.
"Hopefully that will happen over the next couple of weeks that we are on 10 points, and we've put ourselves in a good place for November.
