Russell knows only winning will dim the noise but insists every call he makes is for benefit of Light Blues

RUSSELL MARTIN reckons the more things change at Rangers, the more they stay the same.

That is why he’s so convinced shifting him from the manager's office will do nothing to turn the club's fortunes around.

After a week of Ibrox turmoil - which culminated in a goalless draw with Celtic ~ Martin is still hanging in there.

The banishment of fan favourite Nico Raskin overshadowed their derby buildup and made the boss even more unpopular.

In the eyes of the supporters, he’ still a dead man walking after his team made the worst start to a league campaign since 1983.

Chalking up four Premiership draws on the spin and falling six points behind their Glasgow rivals was not in the plan for Martin or the club's new owners, meaning hes still under pressure in the hotseat.

But, for now, it looks like he’s going nowhere ahead of the international break.

After a battling display against Brendan Rodgers’ side, he came out fighting.

Martin told a beleaguered fan base that every decision he makes is for the good of the club, including Raskin’s omission.

And he’s adamant that if they stick with him - just as his players did against the Hoops - they'll eventually get their rewards.

He said: “I don’t think the manner of our performance will quieten the noise. Until we win football matches, there will still be noise.

“By the way, there was noise the first day Iwas appointed so it’s not anew thing.

“It’s just a reaction to games and the jobs the media have to get clicks. My job is to win games, the media's job is to create miscommunication between people.

“The noise gets louder but it doesn't change one thing we do inside the building.
