NIC STILL NOT PICKED

RUSSELL MARTIN has told Nico Raskin he has to earn his trust and that of his Rangers team-mates again.

- SCOTT MCDERMOTT

The Belgian midfielder has been left out of Gers' squad for today's crunch clash with Hearts - as he was for the Old Firm derby against Celtic a fortnight ago. Raskin, who scored his first goal for Belgium during the international break, is back training with the first-team squad at Auchenhowie.

But after talks between the pair, Martin insists the 24-year-old still has work to do if he wants to win back his place in the side. The boss said: "He won't be in the squad.

We've had lots of conversations and he's back training with the group, which is a good step.

"Every player has a duty to make sure they earn the trust of all his team-mates, the coaching staff and staff in the building - to help us win football matches.

"It's the same for every player here. On the pitch, we have to feel trust and clarity.

That's it.

"The most important thing is Nico knows why. And the players know why. It's between. us, really. He knows and I know.

"It's now on him and all the players to put themselves in the team to win football matches.
