Highland road closure delayed after backlash
A MAJOR electricity upgrade that would have shut the North Coast 500 road has been delayed after villagers raised concerns about an 80-mile diversion during the winter.
SSEN Transmission is managing plans to bring a renewable energy cable from the Western Isles ashore at Dundonnell in Ross-shire.
Residents launched a petition against the A832 closure, which covers part of the North Coast 500.
They say it would have a negative impact on services.
