MATT WESTON insists he is "gutted" Ukraine's Viadyslav Heraskevych was thrown out of the Olympic skeleton final before snatching the halfway lead in Cortina.

Heraskevych was disqualified less than an hour before he was due to compete for refusing to give up his war memorial helmet.

Journalists and photographers scrambled to track him down and spent much of the morning with their backs to the ice, while Weston raced round in a track-record time.
