I've found a sweet new man but my son is so jealous

I SEPARATED from my partner a couple of years ago and we have a five-year-old son, who lives with me and sees his dad every other weekend. The arrangement works well between us and we get on OK, all things considered.

A few months ago, I started seeing a guy I like very much - in fact, he's the first person I've dated who I can see myself getting serious with.

The problem is my son, who's very attached to me and sleeps in my bed every night, which I know isn't great and plenty of people have told me I've made a rod for my own back.

I let him sleep in my bed initially to help him feel secure after his dad moved out and it gave me comfort too.

Now, though, it’s a bit of a nightmare, as my boyfriend can't stay over at mine when my son is with me (which is most of the time).
