Rocker's blast from past as fest feels heat
SIR Rod Stewart gave a sweltering Glastonbury a welcome blast from the past with the help of his Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood.The 80-year-old rocker and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie, 78, rolled back the years by belting out 1971 hit Stay With Me in 30C temperatures.
It was a highlight of a rousing set in which Lulu, 76, and Mick Hucknall, 65, joined Sir Rod as special guests.
The veteran was in the teatime legends slot on the Pyramid Stage before young US sensation Olivia Rodrigo, 22, closed the festival.Bagpipes greeted the arrival of Tartan Army fan Sir Rod.
He told the huge crowd: "I'm here, enjoy yourselves ladies and gentleman please, music brings us together, we need music."
