DNA 'proof stalker not Madeleine' trial is told

A DNA sample from Madeleine McCann's pillowcase proved an alleged stalker was not the missing youngster, a court heard.

The profile was taken from Madeleine's bedroom just days after she vanished aged three while on holiday in Portugal in 2007.

Forensic experts compared it to the DNA of Polish national Julia Wandelt, who claimed to be Madeleine.

Jurors were told yesterday it proved the 24-year-old is not the youngster or the "biological child" of her parents.
