Scott revelling in mentoring role for red-hot Dylan
SCOTT ARFIELD has done his fair share to revive the dying art of goalscoring midfielders.
Now the 36-year-old stalwart is turning his hand to convincing the next generation what they're capable of after teeing up Dylan Tait for Falkirk history.
Tait, 13 years Arfield's junior, bagged the Bairns' first top-flight goal in 15 years as the new boys came from behind twice to draw with Dundee United last week.
The former Hibs player was quick to credit his colleague in the engine room for sharing his time and insight, with Arfield long ago mastering the magic of being in the right place to finish.
The fan favourite chipped in with nine goals from February onwards to get Falkirk over the title line last term and his team-mate already has five in five in this one.
Arfield said: "It's a dying game in football in general - goalscoring midfielders.
"There are not many who pop up with goals.
"Dylan is a wee bit further back than I am, he's probably a No.8 and I'm sitting in the No.10 at this minute in time, so I'm closer to the goal.
