PM PLEDGE BENEFITS DEFENCE FIRM

ONE of Britain's biggest defence firms hailed the industry's “new era" yesterday thanks to a hike in government spending.

Babcock International, which makes warships and maintains the Royal Navy's nuclear submarines, is set to be among those to benefit as PM Sir Keir Starmer pledged to meet anew Nato target to spend five per cent of the UK's gross domestic product on national security by 2035.
