Milanovic aiming to impress Dons fans and Socceroos boss Popovic

NICOLAS MILANOVIC wants to impress Aberdeen fans and Australia boss Tony Popovic.

The winger put in a lively display on his competitive debut in Monday's opening Premiership defeat at Hearts. The 23-year-old made the £400,000 switch from Western Sydney Wanderers in May and looks worth every penny of that fee.

It was a disappointing night for Aberdeen at Tynecastle as they left the capital empty handed yet again following a 2-0 loss.

But fans can take comfort from Milanovic's display and the attacker isn't short of motivation as he bids to force his way into the Socceroos squad for next summer's World Cup.

He said: "I've still to make my first cap for Australia. I've been around it but just haven't made that cap yet.

"So that's a personal goal of mine, to thrive this year and hopefully it will get me there.
