Martin Zubimendi broke the deadlock with a deflected 20-yard volley before halftime and then rounded off the scoring after Viktor Gyokeres hit his third goal in four games since his £64million move from Sporting Lisbon.

Spain midfielder Zubimendi had already gone close with an almost identical effort before his spectacular opener and revealed afterwards that he plans to show it wasn't just a one-off.

He said: “I've scored similar goals during my career. So I think it’s a position where I feel comfortable and let's see if more can come in.”
