ALISTAIR JOHNSTON is itching to get back on the pitch for Celtic but the Hoops defender admits he's been blown away by his young stand-in.

The right-back is on the comeback trail after tearing his hamstring in the frustrating Champions League playoff first-leg clash with Kairat.

Johnston can’t put a timescale on his return just yet - with November tentatively pencilled into the diary - and regular backup Anthony Ralston has slotted in without too much fuss.
