Weather axes city Xmas fest but island town’s is back on

A MAJOR Christmas event has been cancelled for “health and safety” reasons.

The Bangor Christmas Festival was due to take place in the city centre today. But there are winds of over 50mph forecast for the city this afternoon. This has seen Bangor City Council cancel the event.
There was better news across the Menai Strait where Beaumaris Town Council confirmed their ongoing Winterfest was back open after it was damaged during Storm Bram.
