Walker airlifted to hospital after boulder fall

A WALKER suffered “catastrophic” bleeding when a large boulder fell on him while out in Eryri (Snowdonia ).
A group of walkers were coming down Pen Yr Ole Wen in the Ogwen Valley. As they scrambled down the mountain, one of the group tried to pull on a rock that then fell away.
The hiker fell and the boulder that had come loose landed on his knee.
This caused a serious injury and “catastrophic” bleeding. Luckily his fellow walkers acted swiftly - working to stem the blood and raising the alarm.
