Travel disruption as deluge floods roads

ROAD closures were in place across northwest Wales yesterday as heavy rain brought “extensive flooding” to the region.

It saw numerous flood alerts and warnings issued by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

Several road closures or alert of potential road difficulties have also been flagged.

The following roads were closed yesterday due to flooding:

■A498 Beddgelert to Pen y Gwryd - closed overnight

■A499 Pwllheli to Abersoch - closed

B4410 Pont Croesor

■A4085 Aberglaslyn to Llanfrothen

■A497 Bryncynan to Morfa Nefyn

A4085 in both directions closed due to flooding from Bryn Goleu (Waunfawr) to the B4418 (Rhyd Ddu).

■B4405 Tan y Coed, Abergynolwyn closed
