A GRAN with “no teeth” who left William and Kate in stitches on a royal visit three years ago has finally delivered her Welsh cakes to the Prince of Wales.

- By DAVID POWELL Daily Post Reporter

Michelle Watkinson's exchange with the couple on a visit to Holyhead Lifeboat Station went viral in 2022 when she quipped she would babysit for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis but “I've got no teeth”.

The Llandudno woman also forgot “the Welsh cakes in the rush on the A55” but made no mistake this time around.

She handed Prince William the cakes and a Welsh language children’s Christmas book called Nadolig for the couple's three children.

Mrs Watkinson joined hundreds of people who turned out to catch a glimpse of the Prince of Wales, who was visiting young people in coastal communities in Colwyn Bay, Mochdre and Llandudno.

Prince William recognised her immediately and greeted her with a beaming smile.

As she handed over the gifts, Mrs Watkinson asked the prince how his Welsh was going. He replied: “Hmmmm average.” She went on to give him tips on “the simplest way to learn Welsh”.

Michelle's daughter Molly Watkinson said: “He remembered her straight away. They talked about the Welsh language and Kate and the children. He even accused her of flirting!”
