Evan Wright was jailed for 32 months after being convicted of using coercive and controlling behaviour

AN “OBSESSIVELY jealous” man abused his partner for months.

Evan Wright called his victim offensive names and punched her.

The 22-year-old admitted using controlling and coercive behaviour against his victim between January and May this year.

A judge today jailed him for 32 months.

Prosecutor Ryan Rothwell told Mold Crown Court Wright, of no fixed address, isolated his partner from her family and friends.

The couple were homeless before moving into a flat in Saltney in January.

He would dictate what clothes she wore and demanded proof of who she was with. He also sent her “a stream of accusatory abuse and messages,” said Mr Rothwell.

Wright had no mobile phone but would send her messages through a smart TV on Monzo such as “call me now”.
