LOT 11 has recently celebrated its eighth year in business.

Not bad considering some people argued that a brunch cafe, which doesn't offer a full traditional English Breakfast, wouldn't work in Wrexham.The venue first opened its doors on Hill Street with an angle on brunch, after its owner was apparently inspired by time spent in Australia, where brunch is very much a part of cafe culture.

The name “Lot 11” is based on the idea of the time in late morning when, in polite circles, it is considered most appropriate to take brunch.

There was a ‘wait here to be seated’ sign by the entrance, and an efficient member of the team led us upstairs. We were then offered a table for two on the second floor, which had large wall art photos of the local viaducts.

The cafe had an up-to-date elegance with a mixture of comfy armchairs and informal seating with a high spec wooden finish.

The Lot 11 lunch menu offered various brunch options such as smoked salmon, bacon and halloumi bagels and toasties.
