Gravenberch is finding season to be 'really tough'

RYAN GRAVENBERCH admits he has found it “really tough” maintaining standards during the second half of an arduous season in which opponents have been increasingly singling out the Liverpool midfielder.

Gravenberch has been a key figure in the Reds’ battle for the championship having started all 33 Premier League games after being shifted to a defensive midfield role following the arrival of Arne Slot as head coach.

Moises Caicedo of Chelsea is the only central midfielder to have played more minutes in the competition this campaign, with Gravenberch having seen more action than his previous two terms combined.

The 22-year-old played another full match in helping Liverpool move to within three points of a record-equalling 20th championship with a 1-0 win at Leicester City on Sunday.

And while insisting his game continues to improve, Gravenberch has spoken of the difficulties he has experienced in recent months.
