Government to bid for nuclear parts factory

THE Welsh Government is to prepare a proposal to secure a nuclear factory in North Wales.

Wylfa on Anglesey has already been selected by the UK Government to host three Rolls-Royce small modular reactors in what will be the first SMR nuclear plant in the UK.

This will bring thousands of jobs in the development phase and hundreds of long term roles once operational.

Rolls Royce is also to develop a heavy pressure vessels factory that will produce components for a fleet of small modular reactors - including at Wylfa.
