Field of dreams on the cards for Goodwood

John and Thady Gosden’s grey has certainly established himself as the best miler of his generation, despite being eclipsed in the 2000 Guineas back in May when he launched his final sprint all too late and was beaten half a length by Ruling Court.

The son of Kingman righted that record with a bloodless victory in the Irish equivalent before putting Ruling Court firmly in his place in the St James's Palace Stakes, coming home a three-and-a-half-length victor over Henri Matisse.
