Evans frustrated after challenging rally in Portugal

ELFYN EVANS picked up some valuable points in the battle for the World Rally Championship title with a sixth place finish on Rally de Portugal.

After the fifth round of the calendar the Dolgellau driver continues to lead the WRC drivers' championship by 30 points over Toyota team-mate Kalle Rovanperä, with Sebastien Ogier a further two points back.
The Portugal event was won by Ogier and chalked up a fifth win from five events in 2025 for Toyota.
It was the first of three consecutive hot and rough gravel rallies in the south of Europe that will test cars, tyres and drivers to the limit.
The first full day of the rally on Friday was one of the longest of the season so far with 10 stages punctuated only by two brief remote service halts, and Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais finished it in second place just seven seconds from the lead.
