Decision on controversial HMO plan is put on hold

A CONTROVERSIAL retrospective bid to convert a home into a six-bedroom House of Multiple Occupation (HMO) in Llandudno has been put on hold after councillors decided to visit the site.

Applicant Xiaoli is seeking retrospective permission to change the use of 3 Rosebery Avenue, Craig-y-Don, from a three-storey family home to a six-bed HMO.
Planning documents state the property has operated as an HMO since at least October 2023. At November's planning committee meeting at Conwy Council's Coed Pella HQ, planning officers had recommended the committee be "minded to approve" the application, but residents raised concerns.
