Cow's tooth study reveals Stonehenge link to Wales

A NEW study on a cow's tooth has revealed yet another fascinating link between Stonehenge and Wales.

The study, undertaken by researchers from British Geological Survey, Cardiff University, and University College London, suggests that it might have been cattle that helped transport the structure’s enormous bluestones, weighing between two and five tonnes, from Wales to Salisbury.

Archaeologists and geologists identified two Welsh quarries as the source of Stonehenge’s iconic bluestones in the 2010s and the new study, conducted this month, adds weight to this theory.
