Country braced for torrential rainfall

YET more torrential rain, accompanied by 50mph winds, battered and drenched North Wales yesterday.

And there may be even worse ahead as Derek Brockway has issued a warning that further rainfall is expected, potentially bringing flooding.

The alert follows the Met Office’s amber and yellow rain warnings issued earlier this week across significant portions of the country, which led to numerous flooded roads throughout North Wales.

According to BBC Wales presenter Derek’s latest forecast, weekend rainfall could trigger surface water and river flooding, with South Wales and Powys facing particular risk.
