PM, Prince Harry, injured veterans call out President

PRIME Minister Keir Starmer appeared visibly angry as he responded to Donald Trump's slur against UK troops, saying: "If I had misspoken that way I would certainly apologise.
The US President falsely claimed that Nato allies in Afghanistan had "stayed a little back, off the front line", sparking widespread fury.

Over the 20 years that British troops were deployed in the war-torn country, there were 457 deaths of UK armed forces personnel - 405 due to hostile military action.

At No10 yesterday Mr Starmer said: "I will never forget their courage, bravery and the sacrifice they made for their country.

"There were many also injured, some with life-changing injuries.

"I consider President Trump's remarks to be insulting and frankly appalling. I am not surprised they have caused such hurt to the loved ones of those who were killed or injured and, in fact, across the country."

The PM faces calls to summon the US Ambassador to explain Trump's remark, made in a TV interview at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, as he urged Nato allies for more control of Greenland.
