SHE is the first lady of darts - the first face viewers will see every night when they tune into the arrows at Chucking'em Palace.

And she never dreamed of sitting on her throne in a bird's nest studio at the Paddy Power PDC World Championship until a producer's one-line email out of the blue: "Do you like darts?" Sky Sports anchor Emma Paton was originally an Olympic-standard athlete over 400metres, training with former Commonwealth Games heptathlon champion Kelly Sotherton, and working with double world champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson's coach Aston Moore.
