Tough year takes toll on Hodgkinson
KEELY HODGKINSON lamented a "s***show" of a year after injury and illness combined to condemn her to World Championship bronze.
The 23-year-old looked set to complete a rare haul of titles and add to her Olympic and European golds from last summer when she led down the final straight.
However, she ran out of steam in the last 50m and was beaten by Kenya's shock winner Lilian Odira and team-mate Georgia Hunter Bell, right. The British pair dipped for the line at the same time and a photo finish was needed to show Hunter Bell took silver by one hundredth of a second.
Odira broke the long-standing championship record as she won in 1min 54.62secs.
