Eriksen admits clash against Spanish side is 'massive' and United's biggest of the season

MANCHESTER UNITED'S great Dane Christian Eriksen says Thursday's make-or-break Europa League tie is "massive" for the club's future.

Their season hangs on the last-16 second-leg tie against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford following a 1-1 draw in last week's first leg in northern Spain.

With Ruben Amorim's side languishing in 14th place in the Premier League and out of both domestic cups, the Europa League represents their last shot at glory in a crisis-hit season.

United have to win the Europa League to ensure European football next season, with Eriksen acknowledging the importance of going through to keep their season alive, as well as the huge financial boost Champions League football would bring.

"It's massive," said Eriksen.
