Activist regrets 'violent' historical tweets
A UK activist freed after being illegally detained in Egypt has apologised unequivocally for historical tweets appearing to call for violence against Zionists.
Alaa Abd El-Fattah, 44, who was held for six years after being accused of spreading false news, arrived in the UK on Boxing Day and was reunited with his son.
Mr El-Fattah said: "I am shaken that, just as I am being reunited with my family for the first time in 12 years, several historic tweets of mine have been republished... escalating to calls for the revocation of my citizenship."
