Britain is preparing for conflict and there is every chance the UK andiits allies will be forced into a war not of our making but one in which we have to fight.

In many ways Britain is covertly at war with Russia.

Cyber attacks, the Salisbury novichok poisonings, a Russian-ordered arson strike on a London warehouse full of supplies for Ukraine.

But the appalling, overt violence meted out on Ukraine daily could arrive on our doorstep.
