Family's agony as obsessed ex jailed for life over stab killing of tragic Stephanie, 23, in her flat

THE family of a woman brutally knifed to death by her "obsessed and controlling" ex said nothing will end the pain of the senseless killing.

Adedapo Adegbola, 40, was yesterday jailed for at least 25 years for murder after knifing Stephanie Irons, 23, in the neck at her flat on October 21 last year.

A lawyer said Adegbola would not accept their brief relationship was over and he had planned to kill Ms Irons.

After the hearing, Det Insp Stuart Barson read out a statement on behalf of Ms Irons' heartbroken mum and family, who joined him outside court.

He said: "We have lost our beautiful daughter and shining light. Nothing will ever take away the pain that has been caused by this senseless act.

"Steph was the kindest, sweetest person anyone could meet, and our lives will never be the same. While justice will be done, time will never heal our loss."
