Scan detects heart risk 10 years early

A SIMPLE MRI scan can identify people at risk 10 years before they have a heart attack or stroke, a study has revealed.

Researchers at Dundee University made the break-through by analysing data from 5,000 volunteers in the Tayside area collected between 2008 and 2013.

None had a history of heart disease and none were at “immediate risk”.
