Play safe and you'll end up sorry, Arteta

The Arsenal manager has a team of brilliant players but here at Anfield they were far too cautious.

Liverpool may be the champions but on the evidence of their first two games this season they're a side way short of their best. Arne Slot's side have been far from convincing and this was a real chance for their visitors to make a serious title statement.

So it was very strange that Arteta did not allow his team to play with more attacking verve against a side which has conceded four goals already this term.
