NIGEL WINTERBURN insists signing a striker will not solve all of Arsenal's problems.

Gunners legend Winterburn believes they need to make sure other departments are in good shape otherwise they will not create enough chances for a new No.9.

Arsenal have fallen short in this season's title race and have made signing a striker their top priority this summer.

But Winterburn, part of Arsenal's all-conquering back four, said: "The solution to Arsenal's problems isn't as simple as signing a new striker. If you aren't creating enough opportunities then he won't help.
