A MUM whose 12-year-old daughter took her own life after she was sectioned has said she will never forgive the medics who failed her.

Chloe Hayes slammed the mental health unit where Mia Lucas was put and the hospital that failed to spot her underlying brain disorder.

The devastated mum only found out her child had an undiagnosed swelling of the brain during an inquest.

The jury found the Becton Centre, which is part of Sheffield Children's Hospital, failed to respond adequately to Mia's risk of self-harm.

And Mrs Hayes said: "All they had to do was watch her. I actually never got told the truth about the attempts that Mia made until after she died.

"If I'd have known the truth, I wouldn't have left Mia there. And I think she had so much to live for. I don't think she knew what she was doing."
