MASON MOUNT says England boss Thomas Tuchel has told him that the door is still open for an international recall.

Mount's last England appearance came at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, when Gareth Southgate’s side went out to France at the quarterfinal stage.

Injuries have wrecked the midfielder’s first two seasons at Manchester United following his £60million move from Chelsea, with the 26-year-old managing just 11 starts last term.

Despite being away from the international scene for two-and-a-half years, Mount said his former Chelsea boss Tuchel (above) has dangled hope of a return ahead of next year's World Cup in the USA.
