Two men have been handed two of the longest bans ever seen in racing for deliberately preventing a horse from winning.
Higgins, 79, the father-in-law of Burnley footballer Ashley Barnes, was “the leading light in the conspiracy” according to the disciplinary panel, while 24-year-old Kitts (above) admitted he had deliberately held back to stop the hurdler from achieving its best possible position at Worcester on July 5, 2023.
