Star ditched cigarettes and alcohol for Oasis comeback

- BY MARK JEFFERIES Showbiz Editor

ALL he needed in the 1990s was cigarettes and alcohol, but Liam Gallagher has quit his bad habits and says the Oasis comeback tour has saved his life.

Liam, brother Noel and the rest of the band have just completed the Australian leg of the world tour and are now off to South America.

Since the summer, the singer has avoided cigs and booze in order to protect his voice.

And asked by a fan if he missed it, Liam replied: "Oasis saved my life. It’s about time I sorted my nappa (head) out. I know how much this means to people, so stopping drinking and smoking and snorting Gary baldies are sacrifices that needed to be made."
