GIVEN there's not exactly a lot of glowing press about certain parts of the sport at the moment, the coaching staff and players of Super League's top-six chasing clubs need to be applauded.

Admittedly, the battle for first is almost done with Hull KR in firm control.

But the scrap for second place is fascinating and all those positions down through the playoffs is incredibly exciting.

It's remarkably tight and we've had some high quality games as well as this thrilling race goes on.

That's what you want to see and when you've got the likes of Hull KR, Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Leigh, you know you're going to get that between those five sides.

It's great to witness the competition reaching a crescendo like this and it's one of the best finishes for some time.
