It's unreal to be in Emmerdale...I hope my story inspires others

Emmerdale newcomer Shebz Miah has gone from stacking shelves in the Co-op to making a head-turning debut last night as hunky bad boy Kammy.

Shebz, 27, still lives in Bradford with his parents and five siblings, who were full of pride as they tuned in to watch him.

He tells the Mirror: "Last night I watched myself arriving on Emmerdale. It was such a big night - even my next-door neighbours wanted to pop round.

"Everyone was so proud. I know if I ever bump into any of the regulars who popped into the Co-op they would be just as excited for me too." As loveable rogue Kammy, Shebz's character will be ruffling the feathers of the Dingles.

In his opening scenes, he stole a quad bike from Moira's farm and chatted up Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill).

She is set to fall for him, leaving on/off boyfriend Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) trying to woo her back. "It's completely surreal to be talking today about being in Emmerdale, Shebz says. "I've got so many emotions going around. I have wanted to be an actor so long.

"I hope my journey inspires someone who looks like me, or comes from Bradford, or a similar working class background that it's OK to chase dreams.
