Lottery's link with US gives rollover boost

LUCKY British punters could hit a mammoth £1billion jackpot as the National Lottery teams up with America’s Powerball game this year.

The draws - three times a week - will have winnings from at least £12millon and, unlike other games, the number of rollovers is limitless, so the jackpot can soar.

National Lottery operator Allwyn says it paves the way for a £1bn win.

Unlike most other National Lottery winners who get tax-free cash all at once, the top Powerball prize is handed out over 30 years.
