Vows a bright future for kids in ‘best start’ drive under Labour’

- BY SOPHIE HUSKISSON Political Correspondent

AS Nigel Farage does his best to whip up tensions on immigration, Keir Starmer has vowed to heal a fractured Britain and deliver a better future for all.

The PM accused the Reform boss and Tory leader Kemi Badenoch of scaremongering after they spent the summer shifting the focus on to asylum seekers who have been the target of protests at the hotels housing them.

And Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will point out today that while Reform stirs up hate and fear over migrants, Labour has been tackling trafficking gangs – with a record 347 disruptions of criminal networks last year. That's 40% increase on 2023 under the Tories.
