RUTH Jones says Gwyneth Paltrow talked down to her on a movie set after she asked the US star how she got her name.

The encounter was when they acted together in 1996 period comedy film Emma.

Ruth was unknown at the time while Gwyneth was the movie's main star.

Ruth, 57, said: "We were waiting for them to shout 'action', so it was just me and Gwyneth behind a door.
