Anti-thugs laws are so welcome

WELL done Yvette Cooper and the government for tackling the issue of anti-social behaviour. This is a problem that has blighted our country for many years and seems to be getting much worse.

The Tories failed to deal with it and we have seen how badly run down our town centres are, with many people afraid to walk the streets. Criminals think they can get away with theft and attacking people because the police lack the resources to come after them.

This way of thinking needs to stop and they need to know they will have to face the consequences.

I hope we see real change that will make people less scared and more confident in the police.

Unfortunately communities up and down the country appear to be no-go areas for many. I would be glad if e-scooters being used illegally could be tackled.

There also needs to be more powers to stop people shoplifting. It has become almost commonplace to see people walking out of shops with goods without paying and staff just watching them leave.
