Tool aids smooth running of casualty
MEDICS are using artificial intelligence in a bid to give A&E patients the best care as quickly as possible.
The tool, already used by 50 NHS organisations, forecasts how many people are likely to need emergency care and treatment on any given day.
By flagging the most likely demanding periods, staff can plan for them.
The AI programme uses historic data, such as Met Office weather trends, to determine how many people are likely to visit A&E.
