SRI LANKA ABANDONS FUTURE, PAMPERS GROWN-UPS

Having abandoned the Under-18 boys and girls youth volleyball teams which had prepared whole heatedly for what was called the CAVA Volleyball championship in Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka has now decided to field a senior women’s team at the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship scheduled to be held in Katmandu, Nepal from May 22 to 29.
The tournament, organised by the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), will feature eight participating nations with Sri Lanka confirmed in Group B alongside Iran, Kazakhstan and Bangladesh while Group A includes hosts Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, defending champions India and the Maldives.
Sri Lanka will play its preliminary round matches on May 23 against Kazakhstan, May 24 against Iran and May 25 against Bangladesh.
