September tea output dips 9% YoY

Tea production fell sharply in September 2025, though the cumulative output for the first nine months of the year remained slightly ahead of last year, the data compiled by Forbes & Walker Research showed.

Monthly production totalled 22.18 million kilogrammes, reflecting a 9 percent drop from 24.39 million kilogrammes in September 2024. The decline stemmed mainly from the Mid and Low Grown elevations, while the High Growns recorded a modest increase during the month.
