Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said that an investigation has been launched into allegations involving a National People's Power MP from the Kalutara District, who allegedly berated a police sergeant attached to the Welipenna Police for taking action against an illicit liquor trader.
It was reported that ruling party MP Sanjeewa Ranasinghe allegedly verbally abused the police sergeant after the latter arrested a suspect involved in the illegal liquor trade in the area.
